Custom Overmolding of Cable Assemblies

Molded cable assemblies are unique in their ability to resist high pressure and high temperature scenarios. A basic cable assembly won’t last in high heat, but with proper thermo shielding and molding after cable assembly is complete, custom overmolding can ensure that cables and connectors are able to withstand extremely tough conditions and continue delivering power, data, or automation instructions reliably. We use MoldMan thermoplastic molding centers for many of our cable overmold production orders, and materials that can survive up to 125 degrees Celsius, one common example being the Macromelt OM 946 polyamide we use for some clients’ orders.

If your current cable drawing isn’t sufficient for new requirements or isn’t up to par with your current needs, our engineering team can help identify the perfect material and configuration fit for your cable assemblies and prototype, test, and manufacture your new and improved cable assemblies while bringing costs down if possible. We’re also happy to provide OEM molded cable and harnesses molded to your existing specifications, as we have the capacity to produce massive custom molded cable orders comparable to the largest cable assembly manufacturers in the nation.
